I registered English.gold nearly a year ago, and it expires in about a month's time. The gold TLD is a bit of a difficult choice for me. I'm a dedicated .com supporter, and after a brief flirtation with XYZ, mainly because I own xyz1.com I suspect, I decided that I would dispose of all my non .com names. However, "English gold" seems to be constantly in the news, and the new Gold Money credit card issued by an English bank will continue this. The transfer cost is far too high at $74( Name Silo), and nobody is offering much of a discount on this. I started to put together a site for English Gold, but I haven't looked for any affiliate programmes yet, so it isn't earning any money $74 will let me register at least 8 names from the drop lists ( more if there are some black friday offers). Renewal will cost more, as it is registered with my old registrar. Google trends tells me that "english gold" has been pretty flat in the search stats. Looking at Estibot -it values the name at $750, and that the broad match search count has halved recently. It isn't getting a great deal of traffic either, but that is probably my fault, as I haven't done anything to optimise the search results.
I'm getting up to 200 visits a month, and that is without any promotion, and using a minor TLD. Almost all of the traffic is coming from the US, which is interesting. I've got quite a few Forex names, and I ned to find a few services to promote on those. I'll renew english.gold and see if I can sellForex trading on it.
I see black Friday is here again, and there are a few .com registration offers appearing. Maybe I should grab a few dropped names, and flip them after a few months. One of my names is Just Reg'd.com, and that would be ideal to list names that I've just registered. Another advantage of blck friday is that there are quite a few reductions in computing equipment. I've just bought a Huawei P10 phone to view sites that are blocked on public WiFi, It was reduced by £100, and it will let me tether one of the net/notebooks if I can't find a WiFi spot.It will also let me view some of my sites that are flagged as pon because of the name.I'm considering using FoxyTalk.com as a radio site for Fox Foo, but it used to be parked with my old registrar, and I suspect they may have put some porn links on it.
